Still Alive

I wanted to link to this article of manifesto proportions by Drakyn.

It speaks to my own frustrations about how trans people and issues are discussed.

Plus, Bint Alshamsa lays down the truth about the unique experiences or lack thereof involved in being raised female in the comments.

    Thank you ^.^;;
I just see the same shit get posted over and over and then I go and i see trans*folk using language that supports that shit.
In a trans* comm the OP of a post got mad at me and the others calling her out on her “I knew I was a girl because I liked girly things!” section of her introduction.

Heh, I get like 100 views a day … still.

I need to start updating again, maybe every other day. I could probably mine the depths of “Enough Non-Sense” for some internalized transphobia, but, eww.

    Welcome back to the trenches.
    I will fetch your cattle-prod.

It’s 9am and I’ve already gotten 32 views–this is Big News for me. It’ll calm down after the posts in the rage communities and TA go down on the list, but right now I feel really popular.
I’m working on a definitions post right now, but I want to both re-post some of the nice posts from my journal and write a few new ones.
Unfortunately, I get distracted easily (fanfiction and WoW free trial), I have friends that I rather like hanging out with, and I just finished reading The Celestine Prophecy and am still digesting and integrating it.

PS: I’m probably a lot of those views because I refresh obsessively on certain pages; and i want you to update! ^.^

Thank you, Gorgon Queen. It’s good to be armed.

    Drakyn,

Ha, WoW free trial. I’ll see you next year. :) You and Kactus.

Meh, WoW isn’t that great. Sure, it’s easy to lose hours into it–when I finally get around to playing. I’ve got an undead warlock, troll rogue, and a night elf hunter and none are all that much fun to play.
Theres no danger of me even bothering to buy a subscription–the only reason I keep playing is I figure I might as well while it lasts (I hate waste).
Fanfiction is far more addicting for me… the other day I read a Naruto/Pern crossover that was pretty good.

  7. Lisa Harney Says:

WoW is totally that great, at least until you hit raids.

Of course, it helps if you pick a class that really clicks with you. And if no class clicks, then WoW is not for you. :) You’re one of the lucky ones!

  8. drakyn Says:

Warlock is alright, I just don’t have interest in the actual game. Champions of Norrath was much better–and far more addictive for me and one of my friends in high school. ^.^
I’m still sad that we never got ahold of the sequel.
    ^.^

    (damn barbaric languages)

  12. Lisa Harney Says:

Yes, we have a world of difference between a cowpoke and a cattle prod.

I want to make a Conan reference here, but I just can’t pull it off.

  13. hilzoy Says:

    Yay! More posts!

  14. Stassa Says:

Pish! Or, as you Americans say, semantics schmantics! Get off the proverbial and do a post already!! ☺

…I say poke, you say prod…

  15. Lisa Harney Says:

I suppose I could distract you with empty promises of the political lesbian post? No? Darn.

I’ll find something to post tomorrow, lord knows the material’s out there.

    Hi, hilzoy. :)
